Short Film: "Destiny"

"Destiny - Animation Short"
 By: Fabien Weibel

In the short film "Destiny" we were asked to consider the shots. I noticed that this film relied heavily on it's cinematic technique of shooting. In the beginning the film maker used fade in to start the movie off, afterwards there were multiple establishing shots, and we were at eye view with the main character. This allowed us to see what the main character saw, as there was lots of looking where they were looking (0:00-1:25). There were also a lot of shots taken from looking at an object/other person then looking back. There was a low angle shot of the "before" man to maybe emphasize the seriousness of the action. There were many cut aways as well. The director also used a repetition of scenes with some minor changes, such as a new man waking and figuring everything out and ultimately trying to stop the death of the previous man. The directory used slow motion (3:50-3:57). And finally, he the shot tilted up and the short film ended.
